An Expanded Climate and Innovation Agenda (ECIA) for a just and equitable climate emergency response in cities and regions
In this session, ICLEI, Mission Innovation, and UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub will present the recent development of the Expanded Climate and Innovation Agenda (ECIA) and associated tools that measure solution and human needs leadership, thereby helping to meet cities and regions where they are and to co-identify their role as solution exporters in an ECIA and members of a new innovation ecosystem towards transformative change. The focal point of this session is transitioning from a “static problem-solving approach” focussing on emissions reduction to a “dynamic solution provision” that addresses the emergency by putting core human needs and planetary boundaries at the center stage. Presenters will share their insights and provide input for further development of the ECIA Principles. The session will be interactive to ensure participants have the opportunity to use the presented tools and pose questions to the panel.
