Daring Cities 2021 

The 2021 edition offers an exciting five-day program featuring 20 sessions including strategic high-level dialogues, hands-on training sessions for policy makers and practitioners, as well as a variety of networking opportunities. By knowing more, urban leaders can act better in setting and achieving science-based climate action targets, and together, lead us in ambitiously tackling the climate emergency.

We are moving to Hopin

This year, Daring Cities 2021 will take place on the Hopin platform.

Hopin is a virtual venue with multiple interactive areas that are optimized for connecting and engaging. Attendees can move in and out of rooms just like an in-person event and enjoy global, diverse perspectives from compelling urban leaders who have brought about bold climate action as a response to the climate crisis.

This virtual conference-like setting will also give ample opportunities for networking and exchange.

Step one: Create your Hopin account

Once you have selected your ticket on our registration page, you will have the following options:

  • Sign in to join the event
  • Create new account
  • Continue as guest

Already have a Hopin account? No problem. Simply sign in and click the ‘Join event’ button. This will lead you to the event reception.

Do I need a Hopin account? If you choose to continue as a guest, you need to go through a two-step verification and confirmation process in order to access the event.

Step two: Enter the virtual reception

The virtual reception has many features.

Attendees can:

  • Chat with other participants throughout the event
  • View and customize their schedule for the week
  • Enter the high-level stages and session rooms
  •  Join Daring Cities connect networking sessions
  • Rewatch sessions in the Replay feature

and more!

Step three: Build your profile

Make sure you complete your profile ahead of the event. This will allow other attendees to get to know you better and connect with you more easily.

Step four: Customize your agenda

With so many sessions and trainings, how do you keep track of it all? We have the answer!

  1.  Visit the event page
  2. Browse through the schedule
  3. Pick a session
  4. Save to calendar

Step five: Connect with fellow attendees

Daring Cities offers more opportunities for networking and exchange.

Don’t miss the Daring Cities connect sessions. These dedicated virtual networking sessions allow participants to meet fellow drivers of ambitious climate action, discuss new ideas, and expand your network.

How does it work?
  • Be paired in 1-to-1 chats
  • Connect for 3 minutes (or more!)
  • Make up to 10 new connections


Step six: Earn your Daring Cities 2021 Certificate of Participation!

Spend 60 minutes with us over the course of 4 – 8 October, and you’ll earn a signed Certificate of Participation. Participants will automatically receive their certificate within one week of the event if they pass the time criteria.

Step seven: Help us spread the word
