Whova Platform Guide

No matter where you are in the world, we want you to have the best Daring Cities experience. That is why this year Daring Cities 2022 will be hosted on Whova!

This award-winning platform will provide you with the best and most interactive experience so you can enjoy the Daring Cities to its fullest.

Connecting Participants: The Whova platform will allow the participants to connect before and during the event. We handpicked features that enable the most networking opportunities for our participants.

Facilitating your virtual experience: Participants will have access to all the information necessary and the latest updates on the Whova platform!

Step 1: Sign into Whova

On mobile app

  1. Enter the email address you used for event registration to automatically log in to the event.
  2. Create a password and type in your name.
  3. Edit your profile.
  4. The app will take you to the event page automatically.

* Please use the email you registered with for all activities. 

On web portal

  1. Use the web portal link to open the page.
  2. Click “Sign up here” if you don’t have an account yet, and fill in your email and password.
  3. To automatically log in to your event, please make sure to use the email you used when registering for the event.
  4. The portal will automatically take you to the event main page.

* For live streaming for sessions, we suggest that you use Chrome browser for the web portal. Some streaming software may have compatibility issues with other browsers.

Step 2: Set Up your Profile

Customize your page with the most relevant information for the summit.

On the web portal, select your name in the upper right hand corner, then click “My Profile”. In the app, select the profile icon in the upper left-hand corner of the app home screen and press “Edit Profile”.

From there you can add:

  • Interests
  • Professional Background
  • Education
  • Profile photo
  • Short Bio

Remember: other attendees will use this to network with you. So make it look nice 🙂

Hint: People with good profiles make 3 times more connections.

Step 3: Customize your agenda

On mobile app

  1. Find the Agenda tab at the bottom of the screen. You should see a list of sessions for that day.
  2. You can move through different days by selecting the date you want to view on the calendar at the top of the agenda.
  3. Browse or search for sessions on the top bar.
  4. Once you find the session you want to access, tap on it.
  5. If the session is live, it will begin playing immediately upon entering. Otherwise, a message will indicate the scheduled start time.
  6. If the session hasn’t occurred yet, you can click Add to My Agenda to put the session on your own personal agenda and set a reminder.

On web portal

  1. Find the Agenda tab on the side of the screen. You should see a list of sessions for that day.
